Back to Nature Series are new and exciting seasonal offerings. These private programs are for small groups and families with children of all ages. Back to Nature Series programs are led by our expert Naturalists and range in topics for interactive 1 to 1.5-hour experiences. Inspiring animal and ecological programs will delight nature lovers of all ages.

FrogWatch USA Volunteer Training – April 16th
Become a citizen scientist and help protect our local amphibians! Join our certification program to take your herping hobby to a new level. Learn about frogs and toads, amphibian data collection, and how to contribute to nationwide conservation efforts. To register, please email angelina@naturecentergb.org.

Pond Exploration Program – April 18th & 19th
During the spring, one of the liveliest and loudest places on the property, full of quacks and peeps, is our vernal pond where frogs, salamanders, turtles, and an amazing array of invertebrates are all starting to gather. Join a naturalist for a hike to our pond and explore the water using dip nets and buckets. Limited seats available. Arrive early to secure your tickets at the Manor House.

Earth Day Celebration – April 25th
Come to the Nature Center to celebrate the planet with your local community! This festive event includes fun-filled crafts, such as flower crowns, seed bombs, and fairy houses, and access to the Live Animal Museum. Enjoy stories and animal presentations, gardening demonstrations, pond/beekeeping programs, and more. Tickets will be available for purchase at the event. Learn more here.

Shrub Solutions for Suburban Landscapes: By Cathy Ludden – May 9th

Mother Nature’s Storytime – Starting May 20th
For parents and caregivers of preschoolers, enjoy springtime at the Nature Center with nature-themed stories, live animal interactions, and crafts that you create together. Each six week session meets on Wednesdays. Storytime is held indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. Class size is limited to 15. Pre-registration is required. Create Your Own Tea Garden: Workshop by Alexandra Maniglia – May 30th
Calling all tea lovers! Join Alexandra Maniglia, founder of American Herbal Tea, for a unique hands-on class where you will learn to grow your own health-boosting herbal tea garden in your backyard. You don’t need much space to grow beautiful, delicious, and healthy herbs. Trust us, this will change your life! In this class, we’ll focus on two favorite, easy-to-grow and easy-to-love herbs—tulsi (holy basil) and lemon balm. These herbs promote longevity, aid in digestion, create calm, and decrease inflammation to help you have a beautiful, healthy summer. Summer Camp – June 29th – August 28th
Join us this summer! Each week includes daily outdoor adventures, immersive nature-based games, and interactive experiences with our unique collection of animal ambassadors. Campers discover new marvels every day as they grow their curiosity, creative thinking, and compassion. Camp runs in weekly sessions, allowing families to choose one or multiple weeks. Summer Nature Lab – 2 Weeks
Reserve a spot for your middle schooler at the Nature Center this summer! For two weeks, your child will explore the preserve like an ecologist, experiment like a field researcher, and understand our natural world like a conservationist. Nature Lab also offers an intro to zoology with critical thinking about our animal ambassadors and wildlife. In hands-on STEAM workshops, participants learn from our naturalists to develop lifelong skills and practice environmental stewardship. Register here for this great opportunity!
