Gift a Tree of Honor at the Nature Center in Memory of a Loved One.

A Tree of Honor donation is an opportunity to honor a friend or loved one, while also beautifying the Nature Center for generations to come. Donors can select a tree from those available on our grounds or arrange to have a new tree planted where appropriate.

The tree selected for plantings are native to New York and provide high ecological value to the landscape and local wildlife. Multiple trees can be planted to reforest a section of our woodlands. Tree dedications are tax deductible for the non-tangible part of the donation. Donations support the Nature Center’s educational and conservation mission.

Dedication Level & Cost

  • Existing Tree with Bronze Plaque – 5 years
    • Plaque cost is $500 and a $500 donation to the Nature Center
  • Planted Tree with Bronze Plaque – 10 years
    • Cost of tree, labor for planting, yearly maintenance, and $1,000 donation ($3,000)
  • Reforestation in wooded area – 6 planted trees – 10 years
    • Cost of tree, labor for planting, yearly maintenance, and $1,000 donation ($5,000)
