New Summer Addition! Junior Naturalist School: Survival Badge
Join us for one or two immersive weeks of outdoor education with the Nature Center at Greenburgh! This summer edition of our Junior Naturalist Program focuses on forest survival skills – teaching youth how to navigate, build shelter, identify wildlife, and connect deeply with nature. Through hands-on activities, team challenges, and naturalist-led workshops, participants will gain practical outdoor skills while building confidence, environmental awareness, and a stronger bond with the natural world. Students will also explore their role as environmental stewards, learning how to protect natural spaces and inspire others to care for the planet.

Week 2) July 21st – 25th
Entering Grades: 7th & 8th
Time: 9am-2pm

This summer edition will earn participants a special survival badge, which is not required for completion of the school year program.

Who is the Program for?
Designed for middle school students aged 11-14 who are passionate and curious about the natural world.
The Junior Naturalist Program also serves as a pathway to volunteering at the Nature Center. Once completing the entire program, participants aged 14+ can begin volunteering without the need for orientation.
How it works
